No one needs to buy any or most of these workout machines, because the truth is, they will just sit and gather dust. The secret is to develop a plan for fitness activities that are fun and effective - and stick to it. With the popularity of aerobic training, it is inevitable that people will market new fads and products that claim to make getting in shape easier, more beneficial, and more enjoyable, all at the same time, but be careful. The important thing in aerobic activity is to elevate your heart rate to increase oxygen intake for a sustained period of time – whatever the sport or training option. As long as you are exercising, forget about the toys. That is, unless you like them - in which case, go for it. Sport aerobics - train with your friendsSome of the best forms of aerobic workouts are traditional sports. Get together with friends twice a week to play basketball, tennis or volleyball - this alone might be enough to keep everyone fit and healthy. The main thing is to engage in some type of aerobic activity, and to make it something that you enjoy enough to stay with it. Personally, my favorite activity is one that many experts agree is one of the most healthy forms of exercise: swimming. Moving through water works the whole body without injury to knees and joints that impact causes. Overall fitness for men and womenMany sports and aerobic activities, such as running, soccer and hockey work the legs with only a partial workout for the upper body. With swimming there is a significant training effect - every muscle group is getting some kind of aerobic exercise. The best advice is to join a gym, take a class for a month or experiment with a video or DVD. Try different aerobic exercises, kickboxing classes or dance routines to experience the many health benefits. Elliptical machines, rowers and treadmills at a local center are other options. Find out which activity suits your needs and encourages total aerobic fitness. |
